Rosa is a proud Latina from Durango, Mexico. She has dedicated her work tirelessly in various sectors, including nonprofit organizations, private businesses, and local government. While working with local government officials, advocating for policies and initiatives that promote equity, inclusivity, and community development Rosa found her passion for creating opportunities and fostering growth for Latino-owned businesses.
The evolution of the Latino Business Network & Allies (LatinoBNA) represents a significant project for Rosa, marking the establishment of the first Latina Chamber of Commerce at the national, state, and county levels. This milestone underscores the organization’s pioneering role in fostering and supporting Latina businesses, contributing to the broader landscape of business development and representation.

Ingrid Escalante
Co-Founder & Vice President
Ingrid, a proud Latina from Guatemala, holds the distinction of being the first in her family to graduate from college, earning a bachelor’s degree. In 2013, she took a significant step by establishing her accounting firm, Bottom Line Accounting. Specializing in serving small to midsize businesses in the community, Ingrid has become a notable figure in the local business landscape.
Her impact extends beyond the realms of her firm, particularly during the financial literacy sessions she conducts through the Unity Council and ACLCC. Ingrid firmly believes in the transformative power of guidance and robust community support, fostering a conviction that anyone can thrive with the right assistance. Her journey exemplifies both personal achievement and a commitment to empowering others within her community.

Mayra Chavez Saavedra
Executive Board Member
Mayra, who takes pride in her Oakland upbringing and maintains a strong connection to her Mexican heritage, has experienced a noteworthy transformation throughout her professional journey. Beginning as a paralegal at an immigration attorney firm, she later collaborated with Oakland City Councilmember Noel Gallo, concentrating on bolstering nonprofits, Latino businesses, and the broader Latino community.
Her journey continued at The Unity Council, where she played a pivotal role in designing and launching Onward Oakland, a program dedicated to supporting and equipping small businesses in Oakland and the greater Bay Area, ultimately benefiting over 300 businesses. Currently serving as the Director of Community Engagement for Oakland’s Mayor, Sheng Thao, Mayra maintains her focus on supporting the small business community. Her diverse experiences underscore a profound commitment to community service, particularly in empowering and uplifting the business landscape in Oakland.
